What is systemic coaching? 

Systemic coaching is solution- and resource-oriented. Systemic coaching sees people as part of different systems (on various life stages). The holistic view helps fostering sustainable change and development. 
What is the difference to psychotherapy? 

As a coach, I can support you in many ways. However, I am not the right person to provide therapy for a depression, addiction, anxiety or the like. In these cases, I advise you to visit a licensed psychotherapist. I can help you to get in touch with a qualified psychotherapist. He / she will  help you in this case.
Location

Until 2022 I was offering coaching sessions in person in St.Peter near Freiburg. I currently work as a researcher abroad, thus only offering online sessions.
What exactly is a coaching session? 

A coaching session is a confidential conversation between  you and me to which you bring along a topic or a concern. A concern is a concrete challenge or a desire, e.g. to better get to know yourself, to deal differently with a certain situation, to be more confident or to make up your mind and take a decision. In a free preliminary talk, we discuss your concern. The clearly defined concern serves as the starting point for our first coaching session. The concern may, of course,  change throughout the coaching session.
When is coaching session useful? 

A coaching is useful if you want to get to know yourself better: your strengths and weaknesses, your goals, current obstacles and ways for you to overcome them.
What a coaching session can do

A coaching can strengthen and liberate you, can help you to process feelings, to create clarity and to take decisions. Our conversation can be about a private or a professional concern: Improvements on one level usually lead to improvements on other levels. A coaching can save you a lot of strength and time. It is your life, your time and your decision.
What is my role as coach? 

You are the expert in your own life and my role as a coach is to guide you on your way, whenever and however needed: to listen to you, to assist you in sorting thoughts and feelings, to jointly discover new perspectives and your scope for action. I take time for you and offer you my full competencies to effectively stand by your side.

What is the time frame for a coaching session? 

For a session I usually take 60 minutes. However, it can also be a bit longer or shorter, depending on when you are satisfied with the process and your result.
Cost 

Before an actual coaching session,  I offer a free preliminary talk (15-20 minutes). The preliminary talk can take place via phone, via Skype or in person. If you then decide for a coaching session, I will send you a contract that we both sign. The contract is intended to create a liability for the appointment we make, for my services and your payment. A coaching session with me costs 105 € (110 CHF) for up to 60 minutes. Of course there is the possibility to schedule more time or just spontaneously take more time, if no further coaching session is scheduled after ours. A session between 60 and 90 minutes costs 130 € or 140 CHF.

Profile

My name is Mirja Michalscheck (PhD). I am a systemic coach and change manager, certified by INeKo, the institute at the University of Cologne for the development of personal and interpersonal skills.
Communication is my strength. As a coach as well as a consultant, I work in the area of sustainable resource management: I support individuals and institutions in recognizing and using their own resources in order to effectively achieve their self-defined goals and desired impact. My doctoral thesis at the University of Wageningen (NL) also focused on sustainable choices, namely how small-scale farmers in Ghana opt for or against innovations on land management. The research results have made an important contribution to more effective development cooperation. Before completing my PhD thesis, I completed a Master in Integrated Water Resources Management in Jordan and a Bachelor in Environmental Management in Germany and Chile (Concepción).

Mountains and sea

I grew up in Dänischenhagen near Kiel. At the moment I also live and coach in Au, near Freiburg.
